The Heart of the Quran
Surah Yasin is the 36th surah of the Quran and is a Makki surah, being revealed in Makkah before the Prophets saw migration to Madinah. The Prophet saw wished that every single person from his ummah would memorise this surah. We should strive to fulfill this wish of our beloved Prophet saw. The Prophet saw mentioned this surah as being the heart of the Quran, as mentioned in the following hadith: Sayyiduna Anas RA narrates that the Messenger of Allah saw said: “Indeed for everything there is a heart, and the Qur’an’s heart is Yasin. Whoever recites Yasin, then for its recitation, Allah writes for him that he recited the Qur’an ten times.” (Tirmidhi)
