MULLA 'ALI AL-QARI
Mulla 'Ali al-Qari, a Hanafi jurist, hadith expert and theologian, was born and grew up in Herat, Afghanistan where he received his early Islamic education. He was deeply devoted to the Qur'an, and his mastery and precision of Qur'anic recitation and its science earned him the appellate "al-Qarsi", or 'the Qur'an reciter'.
